I felt more confident after taking this class at writing essays. I liked doing google slides for some of our reading assignments. Plus, the amount of homework was not a lot and was easy to finish. 😀
Aldora –
I learned a lot about writing essays. It will benefit me going into my next grade. It taught me how to write essays step by step. I learned how to organize my essays through ANI charts and outlines. Learning how to develop a thesis was easier than I thought and this class taught me how to do it. My favorite book was Ashes of Roses. All the literature reading was my favorite part of the class. The teacher makes our assignments clear and helps us if we need help. I am thankful I took this class as it made a difference in my writing. I would highly recommend it.

I feel a lot more comfortable about my writing after taking this class. What I like about the class most is the amount of positivity, it was just so great. The amount of homework was not stressful at all and it wasn’t too hard to finish it. At first, I was nervous that the other students wouldn’t like my work but I noticed we were all here to learn and the teacher and the students were all inviting and encouraging. it was so fun and I would definitely recommend it. my favorite book that we read during this class was Sign of Beaver. Sign of Beaver was so interesting and I would recommend reading it. The teacher was so nice and thoughtful she definitely deserves a big thanks.

I absolutely LOVED this class. I feel much more confident about writing essays now, especially since I know how to organize them. What I loved about this class was the amount of encouragement; it was amazing. I was a bit nervous about taking literature and was afraid that the rest of the class wouldnʻt like my work. But in the end, everyone was SUPER encouraging. The homework was at just the right amount, and not very hard to finish. My favorite book was either Ashes of Roses or Bound for Oregon. I would’ve never read those if I werenʻt in this class. The teacher was amazing, super helpful, thoughtful, made assignments clear, and helped improve my writing a lot. She deserves a big thanks! I am very thankful I took this class and would HIGHLY recommend it.⭐️😁❤️🔥

I liked that I was able to learn new things that actually made sense to me. I thought that there was a bigger homework load than the rest of my classes. My favorite book in this class was probably Brady.
Addie –
This class was fun, and the teacher was super nice. She was very helpful when I didn’t know what I was doing.

I highly recommend this class to anyone who loves writing or wants to improve their writing abilities. I had only done IEW before this class and really enjoyed this writing format. It taught me a new way to write and organize my thoughts. The class also introduced me to some fantastic books. My favorite was, Sign of the Beaver. The way we analyzed and discussed our books and writing was fun and encouraging. The amount of homework was a nice medium. Not too much, not too difficult, but takes a moderate amount of time. The ANI charts took the most amount of time to complete. The best part of the class is when we write our essays and present them. It was extremely enjoyable to see the flood of comments come in about our papers. Our teacher gave great feedback and included everyone. This class was a great experience for me.

I feel like I’ve definitely improved in my writing and now I have ways to come up with better topics and proofs. I like that I’ve learned a lot in this class and I still feel as if I could expand my knowledge more, which I like. The essays were probably my favorite part, because it wasn’t a humongous essay but it still took a while to type up. The teacher was very kind and understanding if there was a problem. My favorite book was probably Bound for Oregon. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who needs help writing essays or trying to find ideas to write about. This class is probably the best true north class I’ve been a part of so far. It was a great year and I learned lots.👍

This class has been so helpful for me. I feel more confident about writing now than I did last year when I used a different curriculum. Last year, I had very few essays compared to this year, which enhanced my writing ability and comprehension. Everybody in this class is extremely personable, and I feel very respected. One of the best parts of the class was the teacher and her welcoming personality; she encouraged me and was very helpful. She is genuinely one of the best teachers I have ever had.
Ireland –
I feel more confident in my writing skills. My favorite book was The Sign Of The Beaver. I would of liked some more in class learning.
Cade Fugate –
What I loved best about this class was the fact that we could open up and share our thoughts. My favorite book we read in this class was Ashes of Roses. What I loved about the teacher, is that she is very nice and graceful. I have been through a challenge this year and she has been great for my growth and confidence.
Gina Noble –
I just wanted to let you know that this class has really helped me. Since I have to write essays for most of my classes, this class definitely helps me save time and write essays with efficiently. Thanks a lot!

This class was so fun! And it helped me construct strong, persuasive essays effortlessly too! This was my first year with TNA, and I will definitely be continuing with this program. Throughout the school year, I could chat or complete homework assignments with classmates or friends in the class. Everyone was so nice. You will find friends who support you and an amazing teacher who is kind, patient, and encouraging! This class doesn’t start with prayer, and I liked that because it respects other kids’ beliefs without division in the class. (By that, I’m not saying I’m a non-believer, just that I have different interpretations of scripture, and I feel respected that not participating in a prayer won’t bring sudden judgement just because I refuse to categorize myself with Christianity, Judaism, or Catholicism.) I will absolutely recommend this class to others! The homework DOES get overwhelming (especially for those like me who struggle to read, spell without muscle memory, write something out of interests, and keep an attention span in class), but the fruit of your labor is always worth it. Some (if not, 50%+) of the books assigned ARE exhausting to read, but what you get to do AFTER you read the book is the most rewarding activity an adult can give a child: argue why you liked or disliked the story (in more specific ways, but that’s the gist of it). The only reason why I knocked off a star is because all the books we read were all written 40-60+ years ago. I’ve got a handful off passages I struggled to decode. But reading those books in TNA and reading those books they have in other programs are inevitable. Therefore, knocking off a star is inevitable. If I had the time to retake this class, I definitely would!

This class has helped me so much as a writer and thinker! Now when I look at others work I notice if they have parallelism, strong verbs, proofs, exordium, refutation, etc… One of my favorite things about this class is the books are all exiting and easy to understand. One of my favorite assignments we did was near valentines day and we wrote something kind about all of our classmates! Thank you Mrs. Jinks!
Grady Lyle –

This class taught me so much about what it takes to be a proficient writer. The books we read this year were awesome and the homework really helps you understand the concept. Mrs. Jinks is a awesome teacher and helped me feel more confident about writing. You are the best teacher Mrs. Jinks!

This class extremely helped me become a great writer in a form of writing that was new to me which was persuasive writing. I enjoyed the fun activities, projects, papers, and books we read as a class. My favorite book we read was Behind Rebel Lines by Seymour Reit. Thank you Mrs. Jinks so much.
Sadie Inglis –
This class helped me learn how to be a better writer and had good assignments to do it. Not only did I like the assignments, but I also loved Mrs. Jinks and my classmates. It was one of my favorite classes to go to every week. I really like the books we read for the class and the essays we write about the books. I would definitely recommend this class if you want to be a better writer and have a good teacher to help you with it.

This class helped me understand books better, it made me read more, and helped me write better essays. I enjoyed the funny moments in the class the most, all of my classmates are extremely funny and kind. One specific moment I will remember forever is when Logan read his “Why Elizabeth is The Ghost Of Christmas Past Essay” it was very creative and it made everyone laugh.
Malachi Smith –
This class helped me learn how to break down hard things into easier parts so I could understand them. I enjoyed the people and the environment. Writing my first official essay was the most memorable experience because it was motivating and satisfying.
I would recommend this class to a friend because it was a great starting point for a beginner. The teacher was kind and patient, the assignments were easy to access and easy to submit, and the class was short enough to not be boring but long enough for me to understand what was being taught.
