Description

Live on Zoom · Mondays, 12:45–1:45 CST · Full year · 1 high school credit · Taught by Mrs. Marcelete Ailor · Prerequisite: Algebra 1

Algebra 2 is the year math gets serious — and the year it starts opening doors. It’s where students move from the basics into the functions, patterns, and problem-solving that college math and the SAT and ACT are built on. Done alone, in front of a screen, it’s also where a lot of students stall out. Done live, with a teacher who catches confusion before it compounds, it’s where confidence really takes hold.

Algebra 2 at True North Academy is a small, live, dynamic class that meets on Zoom every week with Mrs. Ailor. Your student isn’t watching a recording or grinding through a workbook by themselves — they’re in a real classroom, known by name, asking questions in the moment and working through hard problems with a teacher who won’t let them quietly fall behind. Small live classes mean no one falls through the cracks.

Advanced algebra that carries straight into college math

Students master advanced algebra and — just as importantly — the problem-solving habits that carry straight into Precalculus, Trigonometry, and college coursework. The course builds on Algebra 1, deepening students’ fluency with the functions and reasoning skills every higher math path depends on. By year’s end, they don’t just have another credit; they have momentum, and a foundation they can stand on.

The same trusted teacher, all the way up

Mrs. Ailor teaches True North’s math from Pre-Algebra through Precalculus — so the teacher guiding your student through Algebra 2 is the same one who can walk with them into Trig and Precalculus next. That continuity, a teacher who already knows how your student thinks, is something no self-paced program can offer. It’s one of the reasons True North families stay year after year.

What families get with True North

  • Cognia-accredited — the credit and transcript count for college admissions.
  • Small by design — class sizes stay small so every student is seen.
  • Live, real relationships — a teacher on Zoom every week, not a video.
  • Advising & transcript support behind the class.
  • Rooted in Christ — math taught as a window into the order and beauty of God’s creation.

Is this the right fit?

Algebra 2 is for high school students who have completed Algebra 1. If your student is finishing Algebra 1 or Geometry with us, this is the natural next step in the sequence — and the ideal preparation before the SAT and ACT.

“Her kindness and dedication helped me feel more confident and successful.” — Micah, math student

“The teacher thoroughly explained each chapter… I wouldn’t change anything.” — Gianna, math student

Set your student’s course for the year with a class built to carry them forward. True North is Cognia-accredited and every class is taught live by world-class teachers who put families first. Fall classes begin the week of August 24, and small classes fill — save your student’s seat now.

Rooted in Christ. Headed True North.

Algebra 2 — Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a live class or self-paced?
It’s live. Your student meets on Zoom with Mrs. Ailor every week in a small class — a real teacher, in real time, not a pre-recorded course.

Is the credit accredited?
Yes. True North Academy is fully Cognia-accredited, so the Algebra 2 credit and transcript are recognized for college admissions.

Who teaches it, and when does it meet?
Mrs. Marcelete Ailor teaches Algebra 2 live on Mondays, 12:45–1:45 CST, for the full academic year. She also teaches True North’s math from Pre-Algebra through Precalculus.

What’s the prerequisite for Algebra 2?
Students should have completed Algebra 1 before enrolling. Geometry may be taken before, after, or alongside Algebra 2.

How big are the classes?
Small by design, so every student is known by name and no one falls through the cracks.

Will this prepare my student for the SAT or ACT and college math?
Yes. Algebra 2 is foundational for college-entrance exams and leads directly into Trigonometry, Precalculus, and college coursework.
