This live online Spanish class for high school is practical and straightforward: grammar skill-building, conversation, speaking, reading, writing and vocabulary, every single week. It is taught by a native speaker, live from Mexico, and students are expected to speak Spanish in class rather than only about it.
Instruction runs on comprehensible input, meaning the teacher models the language first and then gives students several chances to practice it before moving on. Each year includes a Country Cultural Project, where a student takes one Spanish-speaking country and presents its people, food, industry, economics and language to the class.
The course deliberately goes beyond a standard Español 1: extra grammar topics, extra vocabulary, weekly homework and additional cultural projects. Students are expected to arrive on time and prepared, work at a faster pace, and bring solid study and communication habits.
Middle school students who want high school foreign language credit may join this class.
Spanish is spoken and understood by more than fifty million people in the United States. Learning it is, in the most ordinary sense, learning to welcome a neighbor in their own words.

This class makes learning Spanish incredibly fun and approachable for beginners! Mrs. Quintanar has been a very sweet and patient teacher which makes the learning environment easygoing and welcoming but still challenges us in an excited way while we learn. After only a few classes I was able to speak, read, and write basic sentences in a language I zero experience in prior. One of my favorite parts about the class are the projects we do, where we not only get a chance to speak exclusively in Spanish, but we also get to learn about different Hispanic cultures as well! I absolutely everything about this class and I highly recommend it!!!
