Marcelete Ailor
About Marcelete
Marcelete has been teaching math in every kind of setting for over 30 years. After earning her B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Maryville College (Summa Cum Laude), she completed a Master of Science in Mathematics at the University of Tennessee, where she served as a graduate teaching assistant and adjunct instructor.
She stepped away from higher education to homeschool her own children and has since taught everything from Pre-K through high school graduation — in co-ops, private tutoring, and Christian schools. Today she continues to homeschool her three youngest while teaching math at True North, bringing a deep love of the subject and a real desire to see every student thrive.
Fun fact: Marcelete lives on eight acres with dreams of small-scale homesteading. The family did not quite catch the vision — but the property still sees plenty of golf balls, 4-wheelers, and giant slip-and-slides (plus one small garden box and five chickens).
Experience & Credentials
Marcelete has graduated four of her seven children and now delights in seeing her grandchildren home-educated as well. Each of her children brought unique learning styles, strengths, and challenges — which, she says, made her a far better teacher. She currently homeschools a 5th, 7th, and 9th grader, keeping her grounded in elementary, middle, and high school all at once.
