Cells & Secrets: The Art of Spreadsheets is a self-paced spreadsheet class for high school that fixes that. With Anna Knaub, students work through intro basics and spreadsheet operations, formulas and functions, advanced functions, data management, charts and graphs, conditional formatting, data validation and protection, PivotTables, advanced charting, macros, collaboration and sharing, and advanced data analysis.
Every week brings a hands-on project with a real purpose behind it: tracking expenses, managing a budget, organizing a project, reading a trend.
Nothing needs purchasing. Your student needs access to Google Sheets or Excel and a willingness to become the person in the room who can make the numbers behave. It pairs well with Entrepreneurship I and II, Personal Finance, or Biz Talk.
Anna Knaub is a licensed Pennsylvania teacher and homeschool evaluator who studied Medieval and Renaissance literature and has taught for over twenty years.
