Does the class follow a specific textbook or curriculum?
The course is brought to life with curated multimedia resources, primary sources, maps, timelines, and teacher-created content. Students will create passports throughout the course which serve as their personal world history reference! There’s no expensive textbook—just rich, age-appropriate materials that support exploration, inquiry, and deeper learning.
What kinds of activities will students do in this class?
In addition to readings and lively discussions, students will participate in simulations, virtual field trips, creative presentations, and role-based challenges. They might draft a declaration during a revolution, design an artifact from a lost civilization, or present as a historical figure. Every class invites students to experience history with purpose and imagination.
Will this class prepare my child for high school or college-level history?
Definitely! This class is actually college-approved as one of True North’s Dual Degree courses for college credit! Students gain skills that are essential for advanced coursework. Along the way, they’ll build academic confidence and see history as an ongoing story that they’re part of, too.
