Math for Science: Building Quantitative Confidence
A 6-Week Summer Intensive for Lab-Based Science Success
Length: 6 weeks (2 live sessions per week)
Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m. Central (Classes begin the week of May 18th, 2026)
Session: Summer 2026
Prerequisite: Pre-Algebra completed (Algebra I recommended or taken concurrently)
Course Overview
Does your student understand the science—but feel unsure when the math shows up in the lab?
Math for Science: Building Quantitative Confidence is a focused, hands-on course designed to help students use math the way scientists actually do. In this 6-week intensive, students learn how math supports real scientific work—measuring accurately, analyzing data, spotting patterns, and clearly explaining results.
Students will practice essential skills like unit conversions, graphing real data, understanding statistics and error, working with exponents and logarithms, and applying the full scientific method from observation to conclusion. The goal isn’t just “doing the math,” but knowing why it matters and how to use it with confidence in lab-based science courses.
By the end of the course, students are prepared to approach chemistry, biology, physics, and other lab sciences with clarity, accuracy, and confidence.

This course is ideal for:

High school students (and strong 8th graders) taking or planning to take lab-based science courses

Students who have completed Pre-Algebra and want to strengthen real-world math application
