Latin IV

Latin IV is designed to prepare students to translate Latin texts. To do this, we will first review to shore up skills acquired in previous years and then focus on participles, infinitives, gerunds, and other advanced grammatical features of the Latin language.

Besides grammar, Latin IV students will practice translation and conversational Latin while also learning about Roman history and the use of Latin in the Christian Church.

This is the beginning of 4th-year high school Latin. Students will gain a continued and thorough understanding of English Grammar, Latin Grammar, learn around 300 additional Latin Vocabulary words, English Derivatives, Latin Sayings, an appreciation for the Roman Culture, especially in terms of Western Civilization, and build exceptional study skills. This class makes Latin learning fun!

Pre-Requisites: Latin I, II, III or its equivalent. If you are not sure about where to place your Latin student in our program, just ask!

Full Year Course – 1 Credit of High School Foreign Language: The class will be taught and graded by your True North Homeschool Academy teacher. The coursework your child will complete in this high school level course is equal to one credit hour which may be awarded by your homeschool upon completion of the course.
