About Tamara

Tamara Pool has been married for 29 years and homeschooled her three children all the way through high school. One of her favorite things is encouraging parents and inspiring teens to pursue deep relationships with God and family — and to embrace their educational journey with confidence.

A conference speaker and homeschool consultant for over a decade, she now advises True North families with rare attentiveness. Personally, Mrs. Pool enjoys a good cup of tea and literary discussions with her grown children, long walks with her husband, and volunteering as a Master Gardener with the Artisan and Plant guilds at the Des Moines Botanical Gardens.

Experience & Credentials

Tamara holds a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from North Central University (Minneapolis, MN) and a Master of Arts in The Great Books from Memoria College. Her academic training also included two Writing Tutorials with Dr. Jan Bentz at Oxford University.

Beyond the classroom, she is planning pilgrimages, studying for her certification in Spiritual Direction, and serving as a church musician. Since 2020 she has served True North families as an academic advisor — helping parents and students map a path that fits each learner's goals, strengths, and season of life, always with a warm, attentive touch.
