About Natasha

Natasha Jones often calls herself “The Reluctant Homeschooler.” A native of Southern California, she spent her twenties coaching college softball before God found her on a beach in Corpus Christi — and not long after, she met her husband, Keith. (The story of how they met is, as she will tell you, a true God story.)

They planned on two children; God had other plans, blessing them with a son and then six girls over nine years. As their oldest neared school age, it became clear that homeschooling — something Natasha had sworn she would never do — was the path for their family. Twelve-plus years later, she calls it not her first choice, but clearly the best one.

Experience & Credentials

Natasha attended the University of Oregon on a softball scholarship and finished her B.A. in History at UNLV. She has coached and taught widely — assistant softball coach at Miami (Ohio), head softball coach and Kinesiology instructor at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and a teacher of English, Geography, Theology, and Speech at Lutheran High School in Arkansas — before retiring to raise and teach her own family.

Now in her twelfth year of homeschooling all seven of her children, she directs a larger homeschool community with a classically focused approach. Her oldest has persevered through dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other learning challenges — giving Natasha a broader, more compassionate view of what education is really for.
