Description
Secret Garden: Graphic Novel summer class is a middle school-level language arts class. This English course is particularly well-suited for students who struggle with
reading, especially with reading disabilities such as dyslexia to improve reading comprehension and reading skills.
Students will read and analyze the graphic novel adaptation of the Secret Garden and complete assignments as guided by the instructor.
Students will engage in guided Socratic-style class discussions about the novel and complete adapted reading projects.
The course is taught from a Christian worldview; however, literature often represents a variety of worldviews.
This Middle school language arts class focuses on phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
The goal of the program is to help students develop strategies for active reading to improve reading comprehension, strengthen reading skills, and develop a lifelong love of reading.

The Secret Garden: Graphic Novel
Composition Notebook or electronic document file for vocabulary
The teacher will provide instruction and grades. The coursework for this class is equivalent to
1/4 credit to be awarded by your homeschool.
