Latin II

Description

Latin II is appropriate for students who have taken Latin I. Students should be familiar with and have a working knowledge of all five Latin declensions and four verb conjugations as well as Latin Verb and Noun Attributes.

This program will cover 5 units: Nouns and Adjectives, Possessive Pronouns and Propositions, Verbs, including Present System Indicative, Perfect System Indicative, and Present System Indicative.

Students will learn around 300 vocabulary words, continue their study of English and Latin grammar, do weekly translation work, memorize Latin sayings and prayers. Our classes include weekly form chants, sentence diagramming, lively interaction, blessings, prayers and lots of fun! Students will further their understanding of Roman and Ancient culture.

Latin II is a wonderful way to really instill a deep understanding and appreciation of English grammar, vocabulary and attention to detail as well as gain a deep appreciation for western culture. Furthermore, it sets students up for success with future Foreign Language studies. Latin students score higher on standardized tests, have excellent study skills and have also developed a fantastic work ethic. This class is appropriate for 5th -12th-grade students who want a solid introduction to Latin with High School Credit.
