In Expedition: Ocean, students will travel the world's oceans with explorers, researchers, and travelers as they learn about the earth's largest biome.
They will learn how ocean currents influenced trade between cultures as well as how they influence climate.
They will learn what causes the doldrums -- and why it was the nightmare of early sailors. They will discover life above and beneath the waves through our animal of the week, which they will have an opportunity to sketch and read more about. Finally, they will discover the layers of the ocean as we dive as we board our virtual submarine and dive to Challenger Deep, the deepest part of the Mariana Trench.
During the class, students will receive weekly notebooking pages to explore topics a little more independently. They also include sketch pages to draw the animal of the week. All information students will need to complete these assignments will be included in the topic boards, along with supplemental activities such as games, videos, coloring pages, and interactive content related to the week's theme.
