Description

Biblical Hebrew II

Biblical Hebrew II is a continuation of Biblical Hebrew I.  Students have learned how to read and write the Hebrew letters and vowels, and proceed from there to Biblical Hebrew grammar and vocabulary. Students will continue to read and understand passages from the Hebrew Bible and gain further mastery and insight into reading the Hebrew Bible and Old Testament.

Brought “back to life” in the 19th Century as the Nation of Israel was formed, Hebrew has made a miraculous resurgence as a spoken language. The revival of the Hebrew language took place in Europe and Palestine toward the end of the 19th century and into the 20th century. The language’s usage changed from the sacred language of Judaism to a spoken and written language used for daily life in Israel.

This course will give students a more thorough understanding of the importance of Jewish History, culture and language. Especially helpful to students seeking to understand how Biblical truths affect them in this modern, digital age. Taught live from Israel each week, students will be taught by Rabbi Fischer who has lived in both the U.S. and Israel.

This class is perfect for those interested in Middle East studies or the study of Critical Languages as well as those who wish to delve deeper into Biblical or theological studies

Biblical Hebrew II complements the Modern Hebrew Course and several students have taken both classes simultaneously as they wish to build their high school foreign language credits.

Biblical Hebrew II pairs perfectly with Biblical Feasts and Festivals and Old Testament: From Adam to Nehemiah.
